The service for Ascension Day takes place on Thursday 9th May 2024.
All are welcome to a special Choral Eucharist to mark The Liturgy of Ascension Day on Thursday 9th May 2024 at 7pm.
Ascension Day – which takes place 40 days after Easter Sunday – is when the church celebrates the ascension of Jesus Christ into Heaven.
The Revd Pete Gunstone says:
“During Ascensiontide – the days between Ascension Day and Pentecost Sunday – the Church remembers that Christ commissions his disciples to continue his work, promises the gift of the Holy Spirit, and is no longer among us the flesh.
“All are invited to come and join us for prayer and celebration, led by the Cathedral Clergy and Choir.”
