To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Heritage Open Days, in which we have participated since 2018, a new online gallery has been created, to remain on the Heritage Open Days site for the foreseeable future as an important record of their history.
We made the shortlist and, after over 3,000 votes were cast, the final stories have been added to the gallery and includes ours!
The Heritage Open Day organisers say:
“Huge congratulations to all those featured. Also, huge thanks to everyone who got involved in this celebration of our magical festival: the amazing local organisers who shared their stories, the champions who encouraged people to vote, and all of you who did vote – it was VERY close in some areas, so every vote mattered!”
Maggie Myers, our Director of Education and Visitors, says:
“We are absolutely delighted to have gained enough public votes to be included in the Heritage Open Days’ final Anniversary Gallery.
“Thank you so much to all of those who have supported us and those who voted for us. The annual Heritage Open Day has become a really important day for us to welcome new visitors to Bradford Cathedral, to celebrate this amazing building and site, its history, features and connections, and to share all of these things with as many visitors as possible.
“We hope that the publicity from this achievement will bring more and more first-time visitors through our doors and that they will come to love Bradford Cathedral as much as we do.”
