You are invited to join in our BIG BREW to BE THE CHANGE on Sunday 22nd September following the 10:30am Eucharist service.
Sunday 22nd September marks the close of Fairtrade Fortnight 2024. It’s 30 years since Fairtrade products first hit the shelves, and this year we are all being asked to BE THE CHANGE by choosing Fairtrade every time. When we do this, we are making an active choice to support over 2 million Fairtrade farmers and workers across 58 countries, to ensure they can earn a fairer wage.
So, following the Eucharist, there won’t just be the usual cuppa and biscuit. There will be slices of cake and biscuits made with Fairtrade ingredients, a quiz and Fairtrade game to enter and a short film to watch. Please make sure to bring some cash with you – so that you can pay a small amount for your cake, the game and quiz and to make a donation if you wish.
All your giving will go to the charity ‘Transform Trade’ which works alongside communities in South Asia and East Africa which are experiencing injustice in trade and business. Transform Trade’s aim is to make all trade, everywhere, people centred. In the UK, Transform Trade advocates and campaigns for changes to business practices and government policy.
