Community Heritage Volunteers 2025
Pupils from the current Year 5 at Lapage Primary School have signed up to be our Cathedral Heritage Volunteers for this year, and have visited this term for their on-site training. After completion of their training, in the remaining months of this academic year they will be “showing” the Cathedral to their peers at their school and other schools in their academy trust.
February Half-term Family Activities
On Tuesday February 18th during the February half-term holidays, we held another of our family activity days. There were morning and afternoon sessions, attended by over 100 children, parents, grandparents and carers. There were old and new faces, lots of Spring and Mother’s Day crafts and colouring activities on offer, and a number of the families took up the opportunity of family-friendly guided tours of the building.
Feedback from the Schools of Sanctuary children’s author events we hosted on 28th January
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for hosting us so wonderfully on Tuesday. We had around 470 pupils and staff at the event and have had feedback so say how much they enjoyed it.
The team of volunteers you had were so welcoming and generous too. Please pass on my thanks to them as well as your photographer and tech person! We are really delighted to have made this link with you and hope we can partner again in the future.
Thank you for your generosity in letting us share your beautiful building, it was a very special time.”
Feedback from the Wellbeing workshop for Year 12/13 ESOL students from Bradford College:
Staff- “Thank you for the wonderful workshop that you so thoughtfully prepared. From the moment we stepped inside the cathedral with our students, we felt welcomed, inspired and safe. If only our world leaders had your ability to break down barriers and build bridges. We look forward to visiting you again.”
Student- “Thank you for providing so much information about Christianity and giving us a chance to learn about it…It was my first time in a church and it was amazing.”
