In 2019 the Cathedral was decorated with flames and doves, the symbols of Pentecost

On Saturday 27th May 2023, Bradford Cathedral will be holding its next Messy Cathedral event, themed around Pentecost.

The free event, which starts at 1pm, is aimed at families and will include party food, games and activities, as well as a time to sing and pray together.

The Revd Ned Lunn, Canon for Intercultural Mission and the Arts, says:
“The festival of Pentecost is the birthday of the Christian Church and celebrates the day that God sent his Holy Spirit on the first disciples.

“Bradford Cathedral will be having a special birthday celebration helping us to remember that amazing day. We will share food, play party games like Pass The Parcel, create party hats and sing a song or two.

“Throughout all the fun we will reflect on what it means to be part of the Church and how we might be equipped to build God’s Kingdom in Bradford and beyond.”

Messy Pentecost takes place at Bradford Cathedral on Saturday 27th May 2023, from 1-2:30pm. All are welcome. Places are limited, so please book in advance via messy-pentecost.eventbrite.co.uk or by calling 01274 77 77 20 (Mon – Fri 9am – 2:45pm).
