On July 2nd a group from Skipton Churches Together Mothers’ Union enjoyed a textiles’ tour of the Cathedral, taking in our beautiful and historical ecclesiastical textiles. The group was delighted to be able to admire the beautiful craftsmanship and to hear the fascinating stories associated with each item in our ecclesiastical textiles’ collection.

“Thank you for the wonderful tour of the textiles.”

On July 16th a U3A group from Ilkley and nearby visited the Cathedral for a general tour of the building. Many had never visited the Cathedral before and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

In their feedback they said, “Thank you so much for your warm welcome and hospitality this morning. We learnt so much from you about the history of the church, its structure, architecture and social demographics, of the famous and wealthy and the benefactors who were influential in the making of the cathedral and other areas in society. The windows are absolutely beautiful and the Cathedral carries a sense of authority and Christian presence. It gives the city some stability in these changing times, being so visible up there on Church Bank. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed our visit…”
