This week we were pleased to install our new Cathedral donation box with a tap-to-donate screen making it easier to donate by card. Its integrated Gift Aid option will also make it easier for people to seamlessly increase their donation by 25% at no additional cost.

Replacing our older wooden donation box, the new ‘donation station’ is in-keeping with the Bradford Cathedral colours of blue and gold, which are echoed throughout the Cathedral interior.  You may have spotted the wonderful gold stars on a blue background painted on the ceiling above the altar, created by architect Sir Edward Maufe who designed the Cathedral extension in the 1950s.

The ‘donation station’, is on a blue plinth, the keen eyed will spot that the letter ‘t’ of the word ‘Donate’ (written down the side of the plinth) is in gold, unlike the other letters in white.  We hope the eye-catching design will encourage donations to help with the upkeep of our beautiful Grade I listed building, which costs over £2,850 a day to run. Upkeep and conservation is vital so that we can continue our musical events, community groups, school visits, and worship and care for our historic Cathedral.
