The Black Dyke Band and Bradford Cathedral Choir Christmas Concert returns on Sat 21st Dec – and the last remaining tickets are on sale now!

After two sold-out events in December 2022 and 2023, the Black Dyke Band are returning to Bradford Cathedral on Saturday 21st December for another Christmas Concert with the Cathedral’s Choir.

Don’t miss out on an amazing collaboration – there are only twenty-one tickets left before this year’s concert sells out!

The programme will see twenty festive favourites performed by the Black Dyke Band and Bradford Cathedral Choir, including some classic carols for the audience to sing-along to. This year’s pieces include O Little Town of Bethlehem; John Rutter’s Christmas Suite; Silent Night, arranged by Bradford Cathedral’s Assistant Director of Music Anthony Gray; and O holy night.

The concert will see the Black Dyke Band conducted by Professor Nicholas Childs and the Choir / Band conducted by Graham Thorpe, Bradford Cathedral’s Director of Music.

Graham Thorpe, Director of Music at Bradford Cathedral, says:
“It’s a great joy to be working once again with the Black Dyke Band and Professor Nicholas Childs this Christmas. For the choir, to be working with musicians of such calibre is a real privilege.

“This year, as well as offering some favourites from last year, we present a programme that includes new arrangements, specially written for the Cathedral Choir and the Black Dyke Band for this concert. Look out for a ‘three-legged’ version of Little Donkey and Philip Wilby’s glorious carol The Word made flesh, originally written for the Choir in the 1980s, and beautifully arranged for the band this year. Get your tickets before it’s too late!”

Tickets for this concert are on sale now with a bar open selling a range of refreshments.

If you do miss out on tickets, you can also come to one of the many other services and events over the last few days before Christmas, including the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols’, the Annual Lunchtime Carol Recital, or the Messy Crib service for families. Full details can be found on the Bradford Cathedral website.
