The monthly fellowship events mixes guest speakers and a chance to socialise
The programme for Bradford Cathedral’s monthly Monday Fellowship gatherings has been revealed, and will include talks on fostering, The Brontë Family and Abraham Sharp, Bradford’s world-renowned astronomer and mathematician.
The monthly Monday Fellowship takes place in the Bradford Cathedral de Lacy Centre, usually on the second Monday of the month, and features a varied programme of interesting speakers. There are also two annual social events: a cream tea in August, and a Christmas fellowship.
The monthly talk is also followed by refreshments and social time.
Upcoming talks include Dean Andy and Ali Bowerman on fostering (February); and Revd. Pete Gunstone on ‘Leading Musical Worship at the Lambeth Conference’ (March).
Monday Fellowship in April and May will be on the third Monday of those months, due to the two bank holidays, and will cover topics of “The Birds Our Teachers” and “Holy Disorders”.
Speakers later in the year will include Jeffrey Long MBE on his extensive charity fundraising work (June); Revd. Ned Lunn on “My Involvement with Arts & Faith’ (July); Mary White on “The Brontë Family” (October); and Maggie Myers on “Abraham Sharp (1653-1742) – Bradford’s world-renowned astronomer and mathematician, whose memorial is in Bradford Cathedral” (November).
Maggie Myers, who is Director of Education and Visitors at Bradford Cathedral, says:
“Everybody is most welcome to our monthly Monday Fellowship, whether you wish to be a regular participant or just join the meetings from time to time or as a one-off, when the subject interests you.”
Monday Fellowship takes place on the second Monday of every month (except April and May, when it’s on the third) at 2pm in the de Lacy Centre, Bradford Cathedral.
