Peace is a Doing Word: Canon Ned – Peace between faiths

20 20 people viewed this event.

The Churches of the Bowland and Ewecross Deanery, in collaboration with Churches Together in Settle and District, Bradford Cathedral and The Peace Museum, Saltaire, are running a series of talks called ‘Peace is a doing word: living peacefully in a world of conflict’.

These meetings for Lent 2025 will take place at Settle Parish Church from 7-9pm on Tuesdays 11th, 18th, and 25th March and the 1st and 8th April.

This series of meetings aims to open up our understanding of ‘peace’ and all it entails; to encourage us that peace is possible (as demonstrated through history and experience), and that we can all be peace-makers and peace-builders.

With contributions from peace activists, educators and practitioners locally and from further afield; from a range of churches, interfaith groups and the wider community.

If you are troubled by conflict – whether on the international stage or close to home – and want to play your part in overcoming it, this series is for you.

Everybody is welcome. The meetings are free. Refreshments are served.

On Tuesday 25th March Canon Ned Lunn will talk on Bradford Cathedral’s interfaith work; and there will be an introduction to Commonweal, Bradford’s ‘peace library’, that is open to all.
